the Concorde stopped flying because it had plenty of limitations that made it not economically viable. It was not allowed for it to fly in certain hours of the day because its velocity makes a huge sound, so the people on land used to complain and try to prohibit. So, with the limited hours and routes it was very difficult to actually profit from it

the reason why the concorde has few crashes compared to 737 and 747 is obviously its numbers. Its common sense how many Concordes were flying compared to the numbers of operational 737 and 747? its a matter of volume if every single airline in the world has a concorde back in the days then its accident record would increase in volume too.

The Concorde had only one crash in it's 27 years it flew. It's a small sample of craft but one crash shouldn't render it "unreliable."Perhaps running the numbers from Concorde verse a 737/747 render them less reliable given the sample size differences? It was my belief they decommissioned because of economical concerns as Concorde was never actually profitable.

I grew up in Evan´s Bay looking over Wellington Airport and remember some of those very ¨touchy¨ landings. Thanks for this.
